Abstract

Digitalization and sustainability are directly related topics, since digital technologies are powerful tools for promoting more sustainable practices. In this context, this study aims to explore the relationship between digitalization and sustainability in companies through bibliometric and social network analysis. The research was based on data collected from Web of Science, without time frame, with a total of 115 articles analyzed. For data analysis, the R Bibliometrix software was used, as it allowed us to map the main research trends, to identify the most influential authors and to highlight emerging themes at the intersection between digitalization and sustainability. The results showed a significant growth in scientific production between digitalizationand business sustainability from 2018 onwards, but there are still important gaps in the integration of these two areas. The main themes identified include innovation, performance, impact, and corporate social responsibility. Furthermore, it was found that countries such as China, Germany and the United Kingdom lead in the production of knowledge in this area. The study concludes that, although the convergence between digitalization and sustainability is in a prominent position, it is necessary to deepen investigations into how these practices can be effectively integrated to improve corporate performance and promote sustainable practices in different sectors.
