Abstract

Due to importance and dynamic character of business incubators, these organizations need to be managed as real companies. In this way, the business model is an important managerial tool for incubator managers, once it allows them to achieve the specific and social aims of these institutions. From this, the aim of this article was to present the incubator business model under the light of national and international literature. For this, we resorted to literature review, starting with the articles pointed out by Antunes et al. (2017). As a main result, it was obtained that the intrinsic business of the incubator can be divided into two logics, the maintainers and the incubators, verified under six elements value, customers, revenues, key processes, resources and stakeholders. Finally, this article contributes to the dissemination of the business model as a management tool pertinent to these institutions, as well as a level of analysis for future research.
